    Position Summary

    The Host(ess) is responsible for providing  guests, either on the phone or in person, with information and support in a professional and hospitable manner.  

    Responsibilities

    Some duties the host(ess) would be responsible for performing, include:

    • Providing fair and consistent seating of guests.
    • Receiving and recording reservations by phone or in person. 
    • Accurately handle paperwork.
    • Check floor and tables for accuracy and cleanliness.
    • Assist in bussing tables as needed.
    • Maintain a clean podium.
    • If any orders are "carry-out", package and check-out (if necessary)
    • Assist food server(s) with table service, including, but not limited to, serving beverages, breads, etc. (if necessary)
    • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task and understanding that the guests' interests and needs are always primary.
    • Must have the ability to bend, squat and frequently lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time and for an entire shift.
    • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
    • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
    • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
    • Anility to learn, use and operate Open Table POS system and all necessary equipment.
