    Position Summary

    As a Bus person, you are responsible for setting and clearing dining tables and stocking service stations in the hotels continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

    Responsibilities

    Bus persons are responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

    • Set and prepare tables for dining, including, but not limited to, folding napkins, cleaning and placing tableware, serving water, etc.
    • Ensure tableware is in good and working condition and report any defects for repair
    • Stock, maintain and clean designated food station(s)
    • Assist food server(s) with table service, including, but not limited to, serving beverages, breads, etc.
    • Retrieve and transport dirty tableware to dishwashing area
    • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
    • Perform opening and closing duties as assigned by management

    Qualifications

    Job Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

    • Excellent written and verbal communiation skills
    • Must be able to multi-task and recognize that the guests' interests and needs are always primary.
    • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
    • Must have the ability to bend, squat and frequently lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. 
    • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift.
    • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
    • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, reaching, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
    • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
    • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
