    An opportunity to join our friendly team working with three of the giant hotel brands in Charleston's historic capital city. We are looking for an energetic, loyal person that enjoys fixing problems to help to bring a great experience to our guests staying with us at all three properties. Managed by Chesapeake Hospitality, which is an award-winning hotel management company with a rich history and an established track record of successful operations for full-service and select-service hotels and an experienced management team that has operated virtually all of the leading hotel brands

    Position Summary

    Helping all three properties in helping our experienced maintenance team. Including all things regarding safety, painting, and preventive maintenance among other duties as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    • Must be able to understand basic mechanical systems including electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating and cooling, and basic construction to adequately perform the duties of the job.
    • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
    • Must be hands-on with the daily maintenance of the hotel.
    • Ability to attend to guests, associates and management in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner which requires strong customer service as well as written and oral communication skills.
    • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize various project and be able prioritize daily workload.
    • Ability to handle sensitive material with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
    • Must be energetic, a self-starter, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be detail-oriented and able to work both independently and with a team.
    • Must be effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying inquiries made by hotel guests and staff.

    Qualifications

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, balance, reach, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, smell, taste and perform repetitive motions that require manual dexterity during and throughout their shift.
    • This position requires the exertion of up to 75 pounds of force and lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally.
    • The employee may frequently have to access close quarters, crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, and sewage and line pipes.
    • This position is both indoors and outdoors and may subject the employee to hot or cold temperatures from machinery and the environment.
    • May subject employee to moderate noise levels, vibrations and hazards including close proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working in high places, poor ventilation, gases, dust, odors and fumes
