    Overview

    DoubleTree by Hilton is conveniently located north of the Philadelphia International Airport and just minutes from the Philadelphia Sports Complex, the Navy Yard, and Center City Philadelphia.     Position Summary

    We are currently looking for part-time AM (morning) and PM (evening) Restaurant Servers to join our team. As a Restaurant Server you will be expected to serve food and beverage to guests in a courteous and friendly manner in accordance with established brand/hotel guest service and sustainability standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room; takes food and beverages in an efficient manner, following established steps of service.
    • Delivers food promptly and professionally; maintains safe food handling and sanitation standards. Follows up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests.
    • Demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients. Advises guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested; accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences. As needed, demonstrates knowledge of specialized diets and allergens.
    • Communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure that orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
    • Exhibits exceptional communications skills and demonstrates ability to get along well with others. Remains flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff.
    • Collects tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
    • Promotes a clean, safe and neat environment for guests.
    • Maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared.
    • Promptly addresses complaints or issues; relays relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.
    • Ensures that the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period; keeps area clean and neat while meeting established sanitation standards.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Hospitality oriented personality
    • Knowledge of safe food handling
    • Must be flexible and able to work early mornings, afternoons, and evenings
    • Neat, well groomed appearance required
    • Record of commitment to quality: positive work habits
    • Reliable, good oral and written communication skills.
    • Occasionally available to deliver food to suites

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to speak and understand English
    • Close and distance vision
    • Identify and distinguish colors
    • Frequent standing with some walking and sitting
    • Will stand for long periods of time
    • Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs
    • Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs
    • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
    • Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel, stoop or crouch repeatedly
    • Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends and extended hours as business dictates
