    Overview

    An opportunity to join our friendly team in a new jewel of a property just a few miles down the river in Charleston's historic capital city. We are looking for an energetic, loyal person that enjoys cleaning to help to bring a great experience to our guests staying with us at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Managed by Chesapeake Hospitality, which is an award-winning hotel management company with a rich history and an established track record of successful operations for full-service and select-service hotels and an experienced management team that has operated virtually all of the leading hotel brands

    Position Summary

    The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and polishing the restrooms, hallways, stairwells, foyers and elevators in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. While also being responsible for driving the hotel shuttle to assist guest in their travel needs to and from the hotel during their stay.

    Responsibilities

    In this role, the expectations are as follows:

    • Thoroughly clean restrooms, hallways, stairwells, foyers and elevators which includes vacuuming, dusting, polishing, straightening furniture and decor, cleaning/sanitizing surfaces and waste removal.
    • Empty room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash from guest rooms.
    • Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors.
    • Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guest room doors, and elevator doors.
    • Obtain amenities and supplies for room attendants.
    • Turn mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor.
    • Respond to guest questions and provide guest assistance, directions, and information as requested.
    • Support the department in any area that will maintain the building and guest service to hotel standards.
    • Must have a valid Driver's License.

    Qualifications

    For you to be the ideal candidate, you should have the following:

    • An ability to attend to guests, associates and management needs in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
    • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills to perform duties of the job.
    • Effective listener whom can interpret the information in order to clarify concerns of guests and fellow employees.
    • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
    • Must have ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines.
    • Flexibility regarding working varying schedules that include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs dictate.
    • Previous experience in hospitality industry is preferred while not necessary.
