    Overview

    Our beautiful hotel, located in Laurel is searching for an experienced full-time maintenance engineer. The ideal candidate will have experience in basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry, hotel experience is a plus! As a member of our team you will come in to contact with guests on a daily basis and deliver excellent service at all times. This role requires someone who is a self starter and able to accomplish tasks, make decisions, work weekends and holidays and care for the physical property at all times.

    Position Summary

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:

     

    • Ensure the building, equipment and grounds of the hotel are maintained and are in keeping with hotel policies and procedures.
    • Ensure timely response to maintenance requests for services by guests, employees and management
    • Perform preventative maintenance and special projects.
    • Manage the basic sanitation requirements/controls and applications of relevant chemicals.
    • Perform other duties as requested by management.

    Qualifications


    •Should have basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry concepts.
    •Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
    •Good verbal communication with guests, management, coworkers and vendors.
    •Ability to work a variety of varying schedules, including nights and weekends.
    •Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
    •Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
    •Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger.
    •Ability to work well under pressure of check-in/check-out times of guests and handle multiple tasks at once.
    •Ability to grasp, bend, and stoop; push or pull heavy loads weighing up to 75 lbs.; and lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes, and luggage.
    •Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
