    Position Summary

    The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical structure as well as mechanical & operating systems of the hotel in the continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability


    In this role, you will be expected to do the following:

    • Assists with preventive maintenance including completion of the Checklist and completes minor repair work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep product quality to standard.
    • Ensure timely response to maintenance requests for services by guests, employees and management with the goal of keeping the maximum number of rooms available for occupancy.
    • Assists in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems and makes minor repairs and/or replacements.
    • Assists in checking and makes minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
    • Refurbishes furniture fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters. Paints and finishes furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, if needed.
    • Assists Maintenance Technician, Senior Maintenance Technician, or the Maintenance Supervisor in any project as directed.
    • Responds in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.


    At least 3 years of previous experience preferably within the hospitality industry

    Physical Demands

    Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis. Must have the ability to bend, squat and frequently lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
